We are excited to offer another summer on the ice and on the waves!
Time to refine your skills on the ice and in the water.
Join us on the island this summer. Hit the ice with Gold Medal winner A.J. Mleczko and Stanley Cup champion Hal Gill and then on the waves with the Ack Surf School!
AJ & Hal’s Skate and Surf summer camp will allow skaters to extensively work on power skating, stick handling, and shooting in a fun, energetic and competitive environment that will allow skaters to feel comfortable pushing themselves.
During the week, skaters will have the opportunity to develop their edgework, stick handling, and positional awareness. Allowing campers to replicate game-like scenarios that will carry over into the regular season.
Once the work is done on the ice then it will be time to head to the beach!
Campers who wish to take to the waves will be transported by camp staff to Nobadeer Beach to meet up with Gaven Norton and the staff at Ack Surf School to hit the waves.

A.J. Mleczko
—
The two-time Olympian and Nantucket native is back for another summer of hockey on the island!
A.J. is a veteran of Team USA and has gone on to represent our country bringing home a gold medal in the ’98 Nagano and silver medal in the ’02 Salt Lake City Olympic games. A.J. was also a part of numerous world championship and 3 Nation Cup teams for USA Hockey from 1996 – 2002. Since hanging up her skates, A.J. has gone on to broadcast for NBC, where she became the first female commentator to work an NHL playoff game. She currently works as an NHL- Analyst and broadcaster for ESPN.
Hal Gill

Hal is a 16-year NHL veteran that over his career saw him suit up for the Boston Bruins, Nashville Predators and Pittsburgh Penguins. In 2009, Hal won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Since retiring, Hal has gone on to head player development for the Florida Panthers and currently works as a television analyst for the Nashville Predators.

ACK Surf School is Nantucket’s most personal surfing experience on the island. Owned by local surfer, Gaven Norton, ACK Surf School provides its students with a true one- of-a-kind Nantucket surfing adventure.
